Chocolate CoveredWith the hustle and bustle of the Christmas holiday here, it’s time to slow down and take a break to give your sweet tooth the right serving of sweet it really needs.  That’s why we’re calling all chocolate lovers!  Today (December 16) is National Chocolate Covered Anything Day, which means we have every right to devour anything chocolate and not have any regrets!

I think most can agree that anything dipped and covered in chocolate, no matter what it is, is  likely delicious, right?  We’ve all heard of the typical fruits, truffles, marshmallows, raisins, nuts, pretzels, peanuts and coffee beans— even insects!— dipped in chocolate, but have you ever thought to cover your crunchy bacon, salty potato chips or chili peppers?  Believe or not, these unique chocolate encased treats are growing in popularity!

Whether the delectable dipping sauce be a smooth milk chocolate, deep dark, semi-sweet or a creamy white chocolate, each adds that special touch of flavor that makes whatever it’s mixed with oh-so- yummy.  Dip it and let it sit, or cover it in warm, melted chocolate fondue. The way you coat your favorite snack is up to you!

But on this day of chocolate infused indulgence, why stop with just foods?  When it’s time to wash those tasty treats down, why not turn to a chocolate martini, chocolate mocha froth cocktail, or a good ol’ chocolate milkshake?  Drizzle some chocolate on the inside of the glass or just cover the rim to “choco-fy” your cocktail!  Feeling frisky?  Add sugar or some fruit or nut topping to add even more flavor!
