Looking for a way to warm up a winter evening or quench your thirst during the big game? The beer industry is way ahead of you – many breweries pride themselves on creative seasonal brews, and the winter versions are in full glory right now.
Breweries often release beers during select months of the year to accommodate season demands and changing consumer tastes (heavy in the winter/ light in the summer). Seasonal releases give breweries a chance to experiment with different flavors and combinations, while still focusing on their flagship beers for most of the year with less financial risk. Definitely a win-win for brewers and beer lovers alike!
Winter brews are usually dark, rich and often slightly stronger than other seasonal brews. If you’re not sure where to start, we’ve picked out 10 of our favorite brews for you to order next time you’re out on a cold winter’s night!
