Whether you’re stopping at your local chain coffee stop or hitting your favorite hometown pastry shop, you’ll want to splurge on doughnuts, turnovers, cakes, pies, cookies and more right now. Look for unique combinations like ginger or sharp cheese for a little sweet treat variety.
You can leave your sweet tooth at home and still take full advantage of apple season. Savory apple dishes often feature complex flavors that will leave your taste buds singing. Want to stick to soup or salad? You can find apples in both. Soups like curried apple or roasted squash and apple are perfect for warming up while the weather is turning cooler, while spicy greens and herbs like endive or fenel pair perfectly with sweet, crisp apple slices, blue cheese and a vinaigrette.
